TO: NETAC Chapter Members Who Are Grapevine Volunteers
2012 Chairmen and Co-Chairmen
COPY: NETAC 2009-10 Chapter Presidents
We had 37 NETAC Grapevine Volunteers attend the September 19 first Host Committee meeting. Jacqulyn Hudgins CPS/CAP, Donna McPherson CPS, Cindy Hammer CPS/CAP, and I were thrilled that so many came. Attached is the PPT presentation in which we discussed what the Minneapolis Host Committee did that will help decide what we hope to do or not do for our 2010 booth in Boston and when our turn comes for the IEFAM. We had a great discussion about many items and definitely all considerations will be given by the Forum Host Committee Board. Our second meeting will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010, at the CHRISTUS Health Conference Center (more details later).
While many of the Grapevine Volunteers raised their hands in planning to attend the Boston IEFAM, I know I missed some volunteers. Please let me know if you are planning to attend and can help with our booth at Office Expo. So far, I have noted the following Grapevine Volunteers that can help with our booth: (1) Joan Teeling CPS; (2) Karen Gallagher CAP; (3) Michele Brown CPS/CAP; (4) Julia Deslatte; (5) Deborah Light CPS; (6) Sherri Van Dyke CPS.
It is anticipated that Office Expo will again be held on Sunday, July 18, from 1 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Monday, 8:30 a.m. to noon based on the 2009 Minneapolis Program Book. While days and times could change, we won’t know for sure about them until the Registration Brochure is available on the Headquarters website probably sometime in March 2010.
The scarf design has been finalized and Jacqulyn will begin working with vendors on pricing. At this time, the scarf is projected to be 34” to 35” square. Depending on cost or unforeseen parameters, there is a possibility that it could be oblong.
The Apron Fundraiser was successful in that we sold out from our first order. Jacqulyn is making two orders this week with Amanda. These two orders will probably be in about the middle of October+/-. Several comments from the Saturday meeting were that the aprons looked professionally made, the material was not too light or too heavy, and the apron looked better than the picture on the Order Form (Williams-Sonoma and Martha Stewart, watch out).
We are taking Apron Pre-Orders; please mail your completed Order Form with your check to my address. These aprons are great gifts for the holidays and also for friends’ birthdays, etc. After all of the aprons are sold, we already have in mind another fundraiser to be introduced at our next meeting on Saturday, September 18, 2010, and another fundraiser to be considered by the eight NETAC chapters for the fiscal year 2010-11 (to be introduced at the April 2010 NETAC meeting). We also plan to have a table at the TX-LA Division Annual Meeting in May 2010 in Amarillo with another raffle item for fundraising.
FYI, the “Meeting Manager” term as stated in the IEFAM Manual is Inge Hafkemeyer CMM. Her biographical sketch is featured the September 2009 issue of Connections which was distributed to members on Sunday, September 20. If you have not met her personally, be sure to introduce yourself at another event sponsored by Headquarters.
I hope to see you at another IAAP event soon. Our next NETAC meeting is Saturday, October 3, hosted by the North Tarrant Bluebonnet Chapter (location TBD). Jacqulyn and I plan to make our “regular” reports at that time. Perhaps, you can come (contact your chapter president for details). It is a great opportunity to meet members and learn about other chapters.
Again, Saturday was a great opportunity to meet the Dallas and Fort Worth area Grapevine Volunteers. Take advantage of our great networking right here in our area!
