Officers & Committees

Awards Committee
We honor the professional achievements and advancements of our chapter members. Committee members promote and collect entries for all chapter, division and international award programs; includes Member of the Year, New Member of the Year, Member of Excellence, Chapter of Excellence, Office Team Administrative Excellence Award, Adecco Mentor Award, and Avery Great Results Chapter Achievement Award.

Bylaws and Standing Rules Committee
Chairman: Cindy Hammer, CAP-OM
Members of this committee assist in maintaining conformity in the Chapter Bylaws and Standing Rules with the International and Division Bylaws and Standing Rules.  The committee chair proposes amendments and resolutions to the chapter and assists the Board of Directors in preparing and submitting amendments to the International and/or Division Bylaws and Standing Rules. All who serve on this committee will be responsible for bringing a copy of Chapter, Division, and International Bylaws and Standing Rules to each chapter event for reference as needed.

Certification Committee
Chairman: Deb Vardell, CAP-OM
Members who have received their certification serve as mentors to other members pursuing the same path. This committee plans a program for recognition of members and others in the local area that achieved the CPS/CAP rating.

Education & Programs Committee
Chairman: Julie Bretz
This committee plans and provides educational programs for the chapter meetings. The Education Chairman meets, welcomes, and introduces the presenter to the chapter members and provides the speaker’s biography and presentation description to the recertification coordinator, webmaster, and publicity chair.

Financial Review Committee
Chairman: Shirl Jackson, CAP
Members: Wanda Fitzgerald, Phyllis Yandle
Appointed by the President to review the previous fiscal year financial records; generates a full report to be submitted to the T-L Division Board before financial records are transferred to the incoming Treasurer.

Historian
The historian captures all chapter activities by use of a digital camera and shares photographs to be used in the newsletter, website, and other publicity materials. This position also preserves important and historical documents related to the chapter’s history.

Membership Committee
Chairman: Rita Backus, CAP FMA
The Membership Committee Chair attends all Chapter Educational Session and Board meetings and directs all activities of the chapter pertaining to promotion and retention of membership.  All members of this committee serve as hosts to new and prospective members at all chapter functions. This committee conducts new member orientation sessions and maintains a published roster of chapter members.

Publicity Committee
Chairman: Tammy H. Durham
Promotes chapter programs, events, and activities through newsletters, press releases, newspapers, television, radio, school office administration programs, and other local and online media.

Recertification Coordinator
Cindi Black, CAP-OM
This volunteer works closely with the Education & Programs Chairman to provide recertification credits to the membership for qualifying chapter meeting programs, and provides attendance certificates.

Reservations Coordinator
Ricki Wilson, CAP
Compiles a reservation list for each IAAP Las Colinas event and provides final counts to the venue and board.

Ways and Means Committee
Chairman: Julie Bretz
Contributes additional operating funds to the chapter through various fund raising projects.

Webmaster
Shirl Jackson, CAP
Maintains the chapter website and promotes web community involvement.
